Argan oil is one of the most precious oils in the world and is used in many cosmetic products because of its fantastic properties. This golden yellow oil provides rich, nourishing care for skin, hair and nails.

How is argan oil obtained?

Argan oil is obtained by pressing the seed pods of the fruit of the argan tree. These trees grow only in Morocco and are protected there. Argan trees are thorny, can grow up to 12m in height and have an large canopy. The tree starts bearing fruit only after it is 5 years old. Obtaining the oil is a very laborious process. First the harvest - the seeds are picked from the ground and not harvested from the tree directly because the trees are very thorny. The seeds are then dried in the sun, freed from the dried fruit pulp and opened. The seeds are then ground and lukewarm water is added to produce a paste which is kneaded until the oil separates.

How is argan oil used?

Argan oil has a variety of uses. It can be used on the skin, hair and nails as it smooths, intensively moisturises and has an antibacterial effect as well. Furthermore, argan oil is often used to treat skin blemishes, weak connective tissue and skin diseases.
